One of Michael's simple joys in life is good quality chocolate. He can fall asleep practically anywhere, regardless of how much noise there is, as long as he has something to cover his eyes with. Michael had to stand in as 'midwife' once when he helped his wife deliver their third baby in their bed at home, minutes before the ambulance arrived.

Happy Places

Michael loves spending time with his family, going on bike rides and holidays together, walking on the beach and hiking in the mountains. He's the sort of person who enjoys exploring new places, planning adventures and thinking outside of the norm in order to get off the beaten track.

Passions

Being a husband to his wife, and a father to their children are both his greatest challenges and joys in life. Being in business is a close second, with the demands and rewards of serving his team, and drawing out and releasing the best out of them.

If Michael could be a tree or plant, what would he be and why?

A Yellow Cedar tree because it's an extremely slow-growing conifer, making it one of the world's most durable and highly stable woods. It is tough, solid and naturally resistant to corrosion and decay. It weathers nature's elements well. Because of these qualities, cedar wood is used extensively for boat-building. Michael likes the idea of being useful material to build boats that will take people on journeys far beyond their safe harbours.
