Mecs enjoys tending to the garden and gets excited when plants grow. She likes to harmonise and make songs up from random, everyday noises like the hum of a fan or the repetitive clicks of a car signal. Mecs has a thing for maps – they tell stories, spark imagination, make sense of our surroundings, and help us find order in complex environments. She appreciates the beauty in all their glorious details!

Happy Places

Mecs is happiest when she is outdoors and exploring nature. Be it going for bushwalks or bike rides, walking on the beach or working in the garden. Mecs enjoys carving out a day in the week that has a slower rhythm, no set plans and where she gets to be most present with her family. Creating with paint, singing, making music on her piano and jamming with others bring her a great deal of fulfilment. One of the main languages of her heart is having deep and meaningful conversations with people over some good food!

Mecs comes alive when she gets to help and empower people to thrive as they discover and use their strengths and natural gifts in everyday life. She appreciates and creates beauty in her surroundings, and is passionate about becoming healthier and stronger. Being a person who loves details, Mecs values clarity in communication and good grammar. She finds raising her four children, together with her husband, both refining and deeply rewarding.

If Mecs could be a tree or plant, what would she be and why?

An olive tree because it is slow-growing and steadfast, and has been known to live for over a thousand years, yet still able to bear fruit in its old age. New shoots spring up from its roots if it's ever cut down, demonstrating resilience in adversity. The olive branch is a symbol of peace and reconciliation, and olive oil, produced from the crushing of the olives, is known to represent joy. Perhaps this is why she gets so much enjoyment out of olives and olive oil!
